421 BadgeThe 421 badging was standard on the 2+2, the 421 H.O. Tri Power engine however was optional.  Standard motor was the 421 4 barrel with 342 horsepower, which was no slouch itself. This was the last year for the 421 motor and for the Tri Power set ups, GM banned multiple carb setups after this model year except for Corvettes.  In 1967 the 428cid engine replaced the venerable 421cid, it could be still had with 376 horsepower though. It was also the last year for the 2+2, which had reverted back to an option on the Catalina for 1967.
